Swine Flu

Well, it has officially reached the Wight House, just in time for Halloween. Our little Griffen now has the Swine Flu. If we don't see you for the next few weeks you will know why! On the positive side, we will for sure have the scariest house on the block!

Creativity

I am the type of person who loves a change, thrives on it even. If I am feeling cranky I can rearrange a room and it makes me happy. My favorite colors and styles are always changing. My sweet husband is the polar opposite of me. He would be blissfully happy living in a house with white walls where the furniture was nailed to the ground. He has however learned to live with a wife who will rearrange furniture and/or paint his white walls while he is at work.
That being said there are several areas in my house that have been in desperate need of some TLC! Why haven't I touched them you might ask.... simply because I didn't know what to do with them. I would stare at them, and they would stare back.... challenging my creativity.... putting their nonexistent thumbs next to their ears and wiggling their fingers! I am happy to declare that I believe I have finally won the battle, well at least made some progress in the right direction. I now now what I want to do with these sad spaces, now the battle with the budget begins. :)
This will be one of my next projects, This wall is going to look fabulous (I hope) when I am finished with it.. it is in my kitchen across from the fridge, and it is just kind of small and awkward. When I am finished it won't be hiding in the shadows!

Here is my boys' room, well one wall in my boys' room... I have already started working in here, I have put white, light blue, and red circles on the wall. I still need to add the navy blue ones. I have big plans in mind for their headboard and the ladder on the wall. (that I just so happened to find on the side of the road one day... my grandma was with me and I think she was embarrassed when I stopped and picked it up... ha ha)

And last but not least.... this wall in my breakfast area is just SO HUGE and nothing I have done so far as made it look any more cozy. I am already working on this project, since I am getting part of it for my birthday. I am so excited to get it finished and to share with you! If you have ever seen anything my father in law has built you know how fantastic the after picture will be.
(p.s. please don't mind the "toy jail" on top of the shelf... that is where the toys go when they have done something bad, usually while being held by a little boy. Imagine that!)

15 Months

I think that this age is my favorite so far! I love seeing G learning new words, and trying to communicate with us. I love seeing him want to be like his big brothers. I love his little walk/waddle. I love how he wants to be independent, but still feels like he needs me to hold him some times. I just LOVE this age... I just LOVE this boy. That being said, I don't NOT love my other boys, it's just harder to enjoy a stage that includes tantrums and constant destruction. And since I know what is coming, I am going to enjoy every last minute of baby time.

He has obviously started to get into things and make messes. However, they are usually pretty small and easy to clean up.

This picture was take by Parker after he swiped my camera. It shows G chewing on something... one of his favorite past times.

And here he is getting ready for church. Or rather trying to run away from me before I can get him ready for church.

Our Five Year Old!

Carsen celebrated his FIFTH birthday yesterday and so today I would like to share 5 things about my 5 year old!
1- He has an INCREDIBLE memory! He can remember things from 3 years ago as well as I can recall things from 3 hours ago! :) If I ever want to remember something I always ask Carsen to help me.
2- He has become very helpful around the house and actually gets upset if I unload the dishwasher for him. He has also started helping me fold hand towels and washcloths. ( I have dreamed of this day for years)
3-He loves to learn new things and prefers adult educational TV programs. He loves pretty much anything on the Science Channel.
4- He has started to become interested in LEGO. (Charles is SO proud) And has begun building "castles" and "cruise ships".
5- He has such a sweet spirit that can be felt when he prays, and takes the time to thank our Heavenly Father for each and every blessing in his life.

We love this little boy and we love watching him grow and learn new things.
Happy Birthday Carsen!
