Parker the Great

This is one of Parker's favorite things to do!
It doesn't matter what it is, he wants to stand on top of it. The more unstable it is, the better chance there is that I will find him on top of it.
If it is close to something hard that would leave a great bruise on his face, you better believe he will climb on top of it.
If it is high enough that bones could be broken during a fall, he will do anything in his power to climb on top of it.
This little boy is a CLIMBER! Not only that, but he is a fearless climber.... Which as a mother makes me a nervous wreck. :)

Help

As many of you probably know we have been having some problems with Carsen and biting for quite awhile now. It seems like he goes in cycles, he will not bite at all for months at a time, and then out of the blue he bites Parker 5 times in one day! We have tried pretty much everything we can think of as well as following the advice of many friends and relatives, however NOTHING seems to work with this stubborn little boy. Any advice you may have would be greatly appreciated and welcome!

So.... yesterday was one of those horrible 5 bite days and Charles and I are at the end of our ropes. We talked to him repeatedly about not biting and about how sad it makes us and Parker when he is mean. Today as Charles was leaving he told Carsen to remember what we talked about and our little guy looks at us and says, " Can I just give Parker a little nibble?." What?! Does he think we will say , " sure son, as long as it's not a huge chomp it shouldn't be a problem." My dad has suggested finding a child sized hannibal lecter mask, and I have to say I am tempted to go looking for one. So, to prevent my child from being muzzled and me from going insane I am asking for help from anyone who may have a solution to our problem!

* by the way I am totally kidding about puting a muzzle on him, just incase you couldn't tell :))

Our big project

We have lived in this house for over a year now, and ever since we moved in I have wanted to paint the walls. When the house was built they used a low grade FLAT WHITE paint on all of the walls and it is just not compatible with two little boys! It took a matter of days after moving in before the walls were all scuffed up and looking pretty sad. So this past week we have finally started to paint our sad walls, and I am SO happy! My mom and Jess helped me out with the living room, dining room, and kitchen. And this weekend Charles helped me paint our enormous foyer! It was a lot of work, but it feels so good to have most of the main level finished. Charles and I had a really good time on Saturday and it was so nice to spend some time alone.... even if we had to work the whole time. He even left me a sweet message on the wall... awwww

So.. we are finished for the moment and I am breathing a big sigh of relief!

The Great Escape

Let me start off by reassuring my family that I WILL be posting Christmas pictures, I just have to get my mom to email them to me first. I would be a little more on top of things, but at least one of us has been sick for the last week and a half and so things are running a little slow lately! :)

To hold you over I do have a pretty great story to tell about Carsen...

So, yesterday was our little man's last day in nursery! I can't believe how fast he is growing up. Because Parker was sick I ended up being the one to stay home with him, mainly because he wouldn't let go of me... literally! So Charles and Carsen go off to church alone, when they get home this is the story that I hear from Charles....

They have been taking the nursery kids into the big primary room for singing time and so they will be a little more comfortable when they become sunbeams next month. So I guess this

occurred during the above mentioned singing time. Charles said that he was in Sunday School and he had just finished reading aloud from the scriptures for the class when he glanced out the window, and what does he see? Our eldest son running along the sidewalk outside of the church! He waits for a minute and realizes that he hasn't seen anyone going after him and so he dashes out the door and begins to chase him. About this time Sister T. from the primary presidency rounds the corner of the building also in pursuit of our little escapee. They continue to chase him to the other side of the building where a nice brother or sister opens the door for the child and lets him into the building. Charles finally catches him and.... well he left out the details here, but I'm sure it wasn't pretty. He then took him back into primary and sat with him until it was over. Apparently they had propped the back door of the primary room open with a chair, and Carsen just couldn't help himself. I am sure that they just can't wait to have Carsen in primary with them every week from now on! :)

Why do I even try!

So today I woke up in a major cleaning mood and so I decided that I was going to tackle my bedroom, bathroom, and closet. I started with the bedroom and had it looking really great, at this point I decide to move on to the bathroom and closet. The boys were watching cartoons in my room and would come in to "help" me occasionally, but over all I think things are going great. So I finish the dreaded closet and bathroom and walk out to enjoy my newly cleaned bedroom only to find this.....

I honestly wonder why I even clean the house somedays! ;) Maybe that will be my
new excuse, " The kids will just destroy it within 15 min. anyway"!
