Fabulous Finds

Or not so fabulous at the moment, but will be in the near future. I have been inspired by several blogs I have stumbled across to take thrift store, garage sale, and found(that's a nice way of saying I found it on the side of the road) items, and make them into things that I love without paying oodles of money. Yesterday Jessica and I hit the thrift stores, and I have to say that I wasn't dissapointed. So here today I share with you the treasures from our hunt...

This is a great little grouping, I am really loving the white glass at the moment. I plan to put most of these pieces on a kitchen hutch my talented father-in-law is building me for Christmas. I am thinking of painting it a very light shade of baby blue and then roughing it up... Ooooh I can't wait:)

Total paid for all 4 pieces $3.50

I could NOT say no to this suitcase... Look at that great color! I have no idea what I am going to do with this, but for only $3.00 I had to bring it home.

And last but not least... I LOVE this chair. I am going to do a little work on it, mainly a little painting and replacing the seat. This was my most expensive peice of the day at $8.00.

I also pulled an UGLY brown, old, PLASTIC frame from the garage, an old one paned window, and two doors from a computer desk that I was throwing out, but sadly I forgot to take BEFORE pictures, but trust me, you will want to see the finished product.... they turned out FABULOUS!
So my total for the day was just under $15.00! Check back to see finished results. I only have the chair left, so it is looking like I might just get everything finished by today!

Parker's Birthday Pictures

The day before Parker's birthday Charles and I had a talk with him and told him to get all of the terrible two's out because he was going to be three.... obviously we didn't get through to him because he has been extra wild this past week. Even though the little guy causes chaos everywhere he goes, our lives just wouldn't be complete without our Parker.

Some of Parker's favorite things include..
Swimming in the pool
Riding in Pa Pa's truck
Wearing his cowboy boots
Finding ways to get out of the house
Jumping on the trampoline
Eating at McDonalds
Spraying or dumping out any and everything he can get his hands on (anyone know how to get sunscreen out of your carpet?!)
Watching Tom & Jerry
Waffles
Popcicles
Singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

His "Sand" Birthday Cake

Some of his friends... The little girl shares his birthday, they are 2 hours apart!

Summer is Here

It is finally starting to feel like Summer here in Alabama! Once we can start going out on the boat and swimming in the pool life is good.
Parker had tons of fun, and loved the bumpy ride.

Before Pictures & A Giveaway

First the GIVEAWAY! Go to my Wight House Gifts Blog and leave me a comment for a chance to win a So Tweet Bird Magnet!
Next.. Here are the before pictures of my vinyl/craft room. As I said it was a total mixture of things I had taken from other rooms in the house just to try and get by. I even borrowed the white table below from my mom! (Thanks Mom :) ) This is the table where I weed and tape my vinyl. A couple weeks ago I had an order for 100 car decals, it was about this time I realized I really needed a larger work surface!

This was my painting/embellishing table. Baby G loves my craft room and as you can see he is in most of the pictures!

And this was my computer desk and book case/sanding area. As you can see I had to basically walk around the room to each station in order to finish one item. NOT fun! :)

I have started working on the new layout and brought some of the new pieces into the room, and I am so pleased with the results so far. I am hoping to be done by the end of next week and I will post pictures of the finished room then!!

So Excited!

I am so excited because I am FINALLY starting to get my vinyl/craft room put together! Up until now it was basically just a room with a bunch of random things thrown together to try and accomplish the necessary tasks..... Now, it is going to be arranged and so it functions :) I have had fun looking for new and fun ideas, and while I am far from having everything I need/want, I at least have a plan. Here is a collage I made of the new layout/items i WANT.... I will take a before picture and update you all on the progress... .as I said before I am so EXCITED!! Ok, the collage will have to come later, blogger isn't cooperating with me.

And finally, I am asking the opinion of the people... yes that would be you! :) I have some off white shelving that I am going to distress and antique to use as the base of my desk and work table... Now I am having a TERRIBLE time trying to decide what color to use for the actual top of the desk and work table. Do I keep it off white, do I do it in a black or brown to add some contrast? As of now the walls are a nice neutral color, and I am wanting to add black or brown accents to frames and such throughout the room. So here is my question to you... Paint the tops off white, paint them brown, or paint them black?!
To be totally honest I just want someone to make the decision for me... I have a hard time deciding what to eat some days. :)

So big

I just wanted to add a few pictures of our ever growing, always changing, baby G. This little boy seems to get a little bigger every day. The first two pictures were taken of him tonight.
Notice those big old cheeks, I am not kidding when I say this little guy eats almost as much as his big brothers! Here he is with what have lovingly named the "dead deer" pacifier.... when it is in upside down it looks like Bambi isn't doing so great.
And I threw this picture in because he looks like such a big boy.... I'm not ready for my baby to be one of the "big boys" yet. Sigh...

Baby G is now crawling FULL SPEED, he can stand, and is enjoying cruising around the furniture. He has also discovered he can crawl ALL THE WAY up the stairs.. YIKES! He has gotten his bottom two teeth, and is now working on a top tooth. And last but certainly not least.... he says MAMA!! All of you moms out there know how a babies first "mama" just melts your heart. :)
