The Painted Baby

Our sweet little baby is slowly turning into a very curious toddler! He will get into EVERYTHING he possibly can when left alone for more than 10 seconds, paint being his destruction method of choice. The first picture was a result of walking out of the craft room for about three minutes. When I left he was happily watching Parker play the computer. I returned to find that our "sweet baby" had climbed onto my counter height work counter, carried a can of black paint to my freshly painted computer desk, pried the lid off, and dumped the remaining BLACK paint all over himself, my desk and the carpet!!! And what was Parker doing? NOTHING... I am positive that the child didn't even know what was happening. :) After a LOT of scrubbing our little boy was squeeky clean. I'm sorry that I can't say the same for the desk and carpet.

I don't have a picture of G after the second paint incident because thankfully I wasn't home.(can't blame me for this one!) :) This one happened while Charles was trying to get the older boys ready for school, he walked in and was greeted by a cute boy with persimmon hands and face. He cleaned the boy, but when I came home I was greeted by a colorful computer chair.

I am SO thankful that his obsession with paint seems to be over, or maybe it's just because I now have all of the paint in the house locked up. :)

An Oldie, but a Goodie!

As I was going through my pictures getting everything ready to put onto my external hard drive I came across these two gems! They made me smile then, and they make me smile now. This was back when Park was still being potty trained.... maybe I didn't remember the pictures because I am trying to block out the memory of that experience. :) Parker is a very private person as is evident in the pictures below.

I am pretty sure in this picture he is saying his famous words, "Give me some privacy!" And I LOVE the fact that I caught him wearing his pj's and the power ranger shoes that are about 3 sizes too big.

A couple of weeks ago Jessi brought the two kids she babysits over to watch a movie with my boys. I kept these two kiddos a couple of years ago, but once G was born Jessi took over for me. Let's just say that this was the only second that they were all holding still the whole time they were over! My kids love them and enjoy spending time together. Our P has a MAJOR crush on the little girl next to him and says he is going to marry her. :) What can I say, he likes older women.

{Another Project (or two) Down}

While checking out one of my new FAVORITE SITES (seriously you have GOT to check her out!) I came across something that I just had to have. I mean I just had to have it in a way that I started working on it right away, kind of had to have. She used a canvas to make hers, but since I didn't have a canvas, but I did have plenty of these old windows I pulled one of these beauties out. Next, I raided my scrap booking paper stash and went to work. And of course to finish it off I used vinyl lettering for the rules. I LOVE the way it turned out!! It adds the little bit of color that my kitchen so desperately needed. And maybe, just maybe, my boys will follow the rules. :)
Mod Podge is seriously my BEST FRIEND!!

And moving on to project number two... OK so actually this was project number one, I just got the pictures all jumbled up. :) Remember that skinny wall I told you about last week? This is the new and improved skinny wall! It is now home to my new cork/chalk board. Isn't it dreamy?
I forgot to take a picture before I loaded it up with calendars, notes from school and the festive corn on the cob artwork, but you get the idea. This was actually not too difficult to make, but I don't see myself doing another one anytime soon. :)

These little corner pieces are my FAVORITE part, I mean aside from having somewhere to hang all of our important reminders.

Ahhh a couple more projects down, only about an hundred more to go.

Happy Early Birthday to Me!

Remember this big huge bare wall that I told you about last week? Well, thanks to an early birthday/christmas present from my Father in Law it is bare no more! Just another look at the nakedness that was my breakfast area.
And here it is!! I have to tell you the story of how this beauty came to be.. Several years ago my grandma found the plans for this at Lowes and thought of me. :) She carried it out to Alabama with her one summer and gave them to me. I LOVED this piece of furniture, but at the time had so much going on I couldn't even think of building it. So... into my drawer it went where it stayed nice and safe for several years. I happened to come across it this summer and I carried it to my Father in Law and asked him what the chances were that he could build me this for my birthday AND Christmas.... and being the sweetheart he is he said YES!!! Can you believe how talented he is? (sorry ladies he's taken! ;))

Still on blocks from being painted.

Another huge birthday bonus came from my mom and dad who offered to buy me baskets to fill my new treasure. I am LOVING all of the new storage space! Now I just need to decorate the top half and I will be finished. So... if anyone wants to come over and tell me what to do you are welcome anytime!! Seriously, that is something I am just NOT good at. :)

Halloween

This year for Halloween the boys wanted to be "Woody" and "Buzz" from Toy Story. We found Parker a costume over a month ago, but we had the hardest time finding one for Carsen. I finally decided we were just going to have to make one for him. I wasn't so sure about it, but he loved it and so all was well. Since our little babe was sick and Charles wasn't going to be home Aunt Jessi and Uncle Dave took the older two boys on a quick run through our neighborhood. They came home with TONS of goodies and they were only gone a little over 30 minutes!

We managed to get a little smile out of Griffen. Even though he feels horrible he is still such a sweet and happy baby!

"To Infinity and Beyond" Not a day has passed since getting this costume that Parker has not insisted that he put it on. He loves Buzz, and he loves being Buzz. The only problem is that like Buzz our little P thinks he can fly. I have to say I am surprised we haven't had any flight related injuries.

And here is Carsen as Woody. He had initially wanted to be The Hulk, but when he saw the mask with the costume he thought it was too scary. :) He loved being Woody because he got to wear his cowboy boots!
