One Happy Boy

I am not exagerating when I say that little G is the happiest baby I have ever met. He is always smiling and the only time he cries is when he is hungry. Here are just a few of his smiles caught on film.

The Window Calendar

*Edit* I am now sold out of the square windows, but I do have 3 rectangle windows still available. One is smaller and two are larger, I will post later with the exact dimensions. Thank you to everyone who was interested in this item!

Since posting the picture of my window calendar I have received several emails from people wanting to buy one.... At this moment I only have 3 of this exact size window left that can be made into a calendar and personalized with your family name and a quote. Send me an email for more details or if you would like to claim one of the remaining windows... info@wighthousegifts.net .

Before and After

I am finally finished... well at least for the next few days anyway! I have been having so much fun playing with paint and my sander that it almost didn't seem like work.
This project is one that I didn't get a before picture, but these two doors came off of an old computer desk that we were getting rid of. All I did here was add some of my chalkboard vinyl and let the boys draw for a fun way to display their art work.

This is probably my favorite! This was the OLD BROWN PLASTIC frame that I found. I painted it white, distressed it, antiqued it, and added chalkboard vinyl to the glass. It turned out great.... I am now trying to find the perfect place to hang this!

While I was in the re-do mood, I went ahead and painted this old hutch that we have had for years. The color didn't really work with anything we had in the house, but it had good bones... so I just painted it black and distressed it. I am still not 100% happy with it, and I think in time I am going to change out the hardware, but it is a huge improvement!

The chair didn't need a whole lot of work, all I did was paint over the gold on the back slats and replace the fabric of the cushion. I included a close up of the fabric... it is a vintage fabric that I got from Charles mom..

And last but not least.... I had mentioned before that I had acquired a bundle of old windows, and this was one of them. I cleaned it up, distressed, and antiqued the frame. I used vinyl to make a calendar, that I applied to the back of the glass... now I can use a dry erase marker to write on the front and it works PERFECTLY.

All in all it was a successful few days of crafting, and now I just need a long relaxing weekend to recover! :)

Fabulous Finds

Or not so fabulous at the moment, but will be in the near future. I have been inspired by several blogs I have stumbled across to take thrift store, garage sale, and found(that's a nice way of saying I found it on the side of the road) items, and make them into things that I love without paying oodles of money. Yesterday Jessica and I hit the thrift stores, and I have to say that I wasn't dissapointed. So here today I share with you the treasures from our hunt...

This is a great little grouping, I am really loving the white glass at the moment. I plan to put most of these pieces on a kitchen hutch my talented father-in-law is building me for Christmas. I am thinking of painting it a very light shade of baby blue and then roughing it up... Ooooh I can't wait:)

Total paid for all 4 pieces $3.50

I could NOT say no to this suitcase... Look at that great color! I have no idea what I am going to do with this, but for only $3.00 I had to bring it home.

And last but not least... I LOVE this chair. I am going to do a little work on it, mainly a little painting and replacing the seat. This was my most expensive peice of the day at $8.00.

I also pulled an UGLY brown, old, PLASTIC frame from the garage, an old one paned window, and two doors from a computer desk that I was throwing out, but sadly I forgot to take BEFORE pictures, but trust me, you will want to see the finished product.... they turned out FABULOUS!
So my total for the day was just under $15.00! Check back to see finished results. I only have the chair left, so it is looking like I might just get everything finished by today!

Parker's Birthday Pictures

The day before Parker's birthday Charles and I had a talk with him and told him to get all of the terrible two's out because he was going to be three.... obviously we didn't get through to him because he has been extra wild this past week. Even though the little guy causes chaos everywhere he goes, our lives just wouldn't be complete without our Parker.

Some of Parker's favorite things include..
Swimming in the pool
Riding in Pa Pa's truck
Wearing his cowboy boots
Finding ways to get out of the house
Jumping on the trampoline
Eating at McDonalds
Spraying or dumping out any and everything he can get his hands on (anyone know how to get sunscreen out of your carpet?!)
Watching Tom & Jerry
Waffles
Popcicles
Singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

His "Sand" Birthday Cake

Some of his friends... The little girl shares his birthday, they are 2 hours apart!
